The Pennsylvania Heritage Society recently held their annual celebration “Heritage Week” in Harrisburg commemorating the 1681 Charter (Penn’s Charter) from King Charles II of England to William Penn which created the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Heritage Society supports the Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission as the state’s official history agency charged with preserving and interpreting the Commonwealth’s heritage and culture.
The PHMC has recently provided Plumstead Township with a unique historic site and museum visitor guide entitled “Pennsylvania Trails of History” that enhances educational programs for children of all ages and for adults. Every stop on the Trail is a commemoration of the people, places, and events that make Pennsylvania history unique.
